DH is currently working in KL.
I have 4 weeks I can take mid June to mud July so I'm going out to stay.
We love KL and seen quite a bit of it already so want to make the most of our weekends by getting away by flights/driving to see other parts of Malaysia.
Langkawi and Penang has been top of the list but it seems it will be rainy season June/July so wondering where else is easily accessible from KL for a weekend away.
We have done Singapore before but will probably do a weekend there as we love it so looking for suggestions....open to anything as long as we can do it easily within 48 hours max.

Oh I love Malaysia! Have you been to Malacca? Very easy drive from KL and really interesting.

If you fancy another island Tioman is beautiful but you'd have to get to Mersing ferry first.

Koh Lipe (Thailand) is a 1.5-2 hour ferry from Langkawi and beautiful.

Parts of Borneo are beautiful and you can do a day trip to see orangutans

I second Malacca - about 2.5 hours from KL if the traffic is decent.
Malaysian Borneo in dry in the summer. I have been to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, prefer Kuching: great restaurants, some interesting museums, trip to see long houses and orang utans.

Cameron Highlands for the Boh tea plantation tour!

We went to Tioman many years ago, waking up in a hut on the most stunning white sand beach I had ever seen and running into bath temperature sea is one of my happiest memories!

Probably a bit different now though Grin

Langkawi in a heartbeat, despite the rainy season. Boat trip to koh lipe from there, stay a few nights.

How about the Perhentian Islands? I was there beginning of July nine years ago and the weather was fab.
