Santorini

Thinking of a week in Santorini end of July/August, me DH and the DC who are 21 and 19. Has anyone any experience of this island, we are looking for a fairly quiet area, good transport ( thinking about not hiring a car this time) restaurants, shops etc. We are looking initially at Perissa to be close to the beach but would welcome other ideas.

I didn't like the black sand at perissa beach.

We stayed in Pyrgos, and loved it. Bus wherever we wanted to go, and not as touristy as Oia (although a day trip to Oia is a must).
