We are just over 50 so don't want the backpackers experience.
Only there for three nights .
Help us find the best place to stay in August . TIA

I have stayed here a couple of times - lovely hotel and only 10 mins walk to the skytrain.

I've been visiting Bangkok for the last twenty years I now stay close to Siam Square as the shopping, food and transport connections are so good. Second choice would be by the river.

I stayed at the Ramada which was ok. If budget allows the banyan tree is fabulous. Def prioritise being near a monorail stop as traffic is AWFUL
Also get the skytrain mot a can from the airport. Much less painful.

The train connection from the airport is really convenient it's about 40p and of course you have none of the frustration of being stuck in Bangkok traffic and having to deal with taxi drivers who forget about using their meter or kindly offer you a fixed price which is way more than the standard fare.

The Sukosol a few minutes walk from Phaya Thai is a really nice hotel and is the last stop on the airport train. It also connects to the BTS to get around the city. In Siam Square I usually stay at the Novotel or closer to MBK the Holiday Inn Express.
