Teens - Riviera Maya hotels

Any recommendations for a great hotel with teens in Riviera Maya, Mexico for August?

Boy teen will want sports, girl teen lots of swimming pools. We'd like to get out and about - a bit of snorkelling etc.

Recommendations appreciated.

Xcarat occidental was nice small sheltered beach in its own bay with lots of fish. Hotel was great apart from the guys trying to sell you a time share in the hotel but we upgraded and had gold bands (same as time share owners so just fob them off. We also had free entrance into the nature park next door which had snorkelling through under ground river another beach where my partner spotted a turtle. Mayan shows etc well worth a couple of days in at least.
Taxi to local town was $10 each way.

Is it worth buying the unlimited pass to the park? If we stayed for ten days how often are we likely to go to the park?

We went to the Catalonia Riviera Maya. Not too bad for an AI hotel, with lots of pools, great food and loads of entertainment. We used the local buses to travel to Xplor, Xel Ha(sp), Cancun and Tulum. Also got a taxi to Chichen Itza. Our teens 13 and 15 LOVED it all. Said it's the best holiday they've had.

For the parks; it's probably a good idea to look into a pass as it's v v expensive and tourists are charged more than Mexicans at the desks.

Thank you, how long did you stay for? I'm thinking ten days?

We stayed for two weeks.
Only holiday where everyone was sorry to leave.
