Villa holiday recommendations

We are looking for our summer holiday this year for 2 mid teens, my dad, dh and me.

The past 2 years we have stayed in villas in Portugal and loved it. The kids love the pool, the privacy of their own rooms, BBQ at night or eat out, back to watch a movie or sit outside and chill.

Portugal is our backup plan again this year, but we're keen to try somewhere different. Thinking Italy, Majorca, Spain etc.

Has anyone stayed in a 3/4 bedroom villa that they would recommend (for July).

Our budget is £4.5k to include flights for 10 days to 2 weeks

Sparky sorry I don’t have any recommendations for you as we have never booked a villa usually stay in apartments. This year we very much fancy a villa holiday like you have described in Portugal. Can you recommend any great villas please?

Sparky
We have holidayed in Portugal as well and loved it, what sort of resort do you normally stay in?
In recent years we have stayed in Nerja( there is a water quality problem with the sea but we don't use the sea just the pool)
Also have visited Lanzarote a few times, as well as Kalkan in Turkey as well as other places in Spain

Regarding villa recommendations the ones we have stayed in a probably too small or the larger ones we have stayed in aren't rented out anymore but this one may be suitable, we had a fab holiday there a few years ago, it is walking distance to the village with a few bars and restaurants but just a short drive into Denia

However I know of someone who has stayed at this villa numerous times

We are looking for an alternative villa to rent possibly in Kalkan this year as the one we have rented before has been sold and have considered this one

I have to say you really can't beat a villa holiday and I think I would struggle now not to have our own pool and space Grin

@doolaley12, we have stayed in Castelo (close to Albufeira) and used Solmar villas for there. It was a lovely villa, 10 mins walk from a gorgeous beach and 15 mins drive into Albufeira, but there weren't many restaurants close to the villa so if we ate out, we tended to drive to one.

Last year we stayed in Carvoiero using carvoierovillas.com, Rocha Brava is also gorgeous there. We loved it here. We could easily walk to restaurants, and our villa was great.

@justaweeone, thanks for the recommendations, I will look at those. I agree, a villa holiday gives us so much more freedom and the kids love it. They were never into kids clubs etc at hotels, so are happy to hang out together (or chill in their own rooms) in a villa.

@sleepismysuperpower1, that place looks great, but I think Cyprus in July would be too hot for us.

We've used Villa Plus for Majorca (Cala D'Or) and Menorca (Cala Galdana) both good and walkable to beach/restaurants. Also used James Villas in the past (and Solmar).

We have used Villa plus and Optima villas in the past and would recommend.

Recommendation of a specific villa is difficult though. We loved Su Casa in Lanzarote through Optima Villas bur it's very individual in whether you like quiet villa or one near the beach etc so I would read the reviews and then search it up on Tripadvisor or just google the Villa name for unbiased reviews.

I like Villa Plus and James Villa because if you book flights too you are ATOL protected.
