I know it's not a first world problems but we can't decide through lack of knowledge.
We are fifty odd so not really into clubing . All we want is a nice hotel and to be able to walk out side and choose various restaurant s .
We have got elephant sanctuary and a cooking course on our lists of what we want to do.
Has anyone got any thoughts on what and where to go . TI A

We've stayed at Bophut twice were mid 50's, so wanted quieter hotel within walking distance of village
Fits the bill perfectly for us as loads of places to eat at Fisherman's village and there's the night market twice a week which is an experience!
Sand on beach is a bit coarser than Chaweng, but there are amazing views over to Koh Phangan ..tbh we spent most of our time in the infinity pool at hotel looking out to the island!
We stayed at Anantara Bophut...highly recommend for their service and fabulous spa and restaurant

We booked with Travelbag and got very competitive rate
Love Koh Samui...but last year spent week in Koh Samui and week on Koh Phangan...now that was paradise, as you arrive at hotel by speed boat!

Definitely Bophut. There were some seedy parts to Chaweng. We went in once, that was enough. Nothing at all like that in Bophut. Stay in Zazen, a stunning boutique hotel right on the beach. Has a fab cookery school and an amazing restaurant. Anantara and looked lovely too.
