4 night break booked going with DH, DS 12 and 14. Any recommendations? Anything that should be booked in advance?

What do you like doing? I would recommend the DDR museum and the museum of natural history.

The Ritter sport flagship store!

Do one of the walking tours. Visit the Berlin Wall, we particularly like the area around The Chapel of Reconciliation.

It is a wonderful, wonderful city.

Thanks for suggestions, really helpful. Want to keep it varied. Any food/restaurant recommendations also welcome?

Metro is your friend in Berlin!
Get the train to hallesches tor , walk up freidrichstrasse.
You start in what was Eastern Germany , reach checkpoint Charlie then move into ‘western germany’. Keep going, hopefully the Bugatti showroom is still there for a gawp!
Shortly after turn left to brandenburg gate, left there to Jewish memorial then onto potsdamerplatz for shops , food.

There’s a former television tower called Fernsehturm, book in advance if you can.

I think the Olympic stadium area has the original pool if
you’re into swimming and history!

Spy Museum
Computer game museum
Game Science Centre (v close to checkpoint Charlie)
DDR Museum
Go up the dome of the Reichstag. Definitely book in advance. I think it’s still free.
Try currywurst
La Pausa for the best pizza and pasta!

Mixing history attractions with chocolate, supercars and pizza sounds wonderful! Some really good ideas, thank you!

The Olympic Stadium is fascinating to walk around.

Museum of the wall, on Bernauer Strasse.

Holocaust memorial

The tanks in Tierpark and the Victory Column - get the number 100 bus which goes from Alexander Platz to the zoo. The zoo itself is excellent too.

Definitely book the dome online - it's incredible.

A nice casual and fun place to eat is Momos, for vegetarian dumplings.

Google for some of the best burger places - I'm not a fan of burgers so haven't been, but suspect they'd have teen appeal.

Thank you, that is some more places added to the list!

Excellent city break and managed to do most of the suggestions!. Kids enjoyed the DDR museum, TV tower, Olympic stadium, espionage museum, The Wall... They also enjoyed the day out to Potsdam, they loved the double decker train. We had a couple of fabulous breakfasts at cafes near to us. Alternated between supermarket lunch and breakfasts. Main meals were fine. All in all a very good trip which we all enjoyed. Just need to decide where next!...?

Glad you enjoyed. Just planning my tenth trip there - very excited!

We really enjoyed a cycling sightseeing tour - the one we did started just under the tower and covered all the centre sights - I think the firm was fat-tyres. You see far more than a walking tour.
