We are in the process of thinking about holidays and want to go somewhere with the following:

Nice sandy beach
Beautiful sea with sandy bed
A promenade
Marina
Hotel with sea view

We have visited Puerto Pollensa and love it there but would like to try somewhere else.

Where have you been and enjoyed?

Costa adeje, Tenerife.

Playa Blanca. There are two H10 hotels here. I think the H10 Timanfaya Palace will probably have the better sea view.
Puerto del Carmen

Thanks for your replies. Had a look at Timanfaya but it is adults only. Sorry, I forgot to mention it would be a family holiday

H10 Rubicon Palace is beside the Timanfaya Palace - we stayed here about 15 years ago and loved it!

Cavtat croatia

buttermilkwaffles · 05/04/2019 17:53

Cavtat does not have sandy beaches or a sandy sea bed, these are quite rare in Croatia. Sea urchins are also common, but you can buy swimming shoes there for about £10. While the water in Croatia is lovely and clear and great for swimming or snorkeling (with a very few exceptions) it doesn't satisfy the criteria of the OP for sandy beaches and a sandy sea bed.

We liked Rubicon Palace with some points less good

They charge for pool towels, not just once but each time you change them.
Reservations for the non buffet restaurants was a nightmare to get, we arrived in a Tuesday for just 6 days and all slots were booked up, they squeezed us in but not what I expect for that price.

The coffee bar is only AI for drinks, not for the cakes.

No food apart from junk food during the afternoon.

The Bar is great, very large and good drinks for AI. Buffet is nice but a bit repetitive but there are great restaurants in Playa Blanca if your u need a change. Room was good, even with DD next to us in a sofa bed.

Can’t comment on entertainment, not the typical disco or show unless it gets quite late in the evening but it was inside the hotel, not where the rooms are (that was October though).

Vieste italy
We stayed at hotel melograni think it's 4 *
Ideal really as two big pools plus an underground walkway to the absolutely perfect beach
Own umbrella sun bed.
The town is magical as well fabulous atmosphere restaurants
Only downside is it's a fairly long drive from the airport but through the gargantuas national park so v beautiful.

Alghero, Sardinia.

Gunpowder · 05/05/2019 18:39

I was going to say Sardinia too. Best sandy beaches I’ve seen in Europe (like the Caribbean or the Maldives).

mrspk · 15/05/2019 21:04

I was going to say Playa Blanca too. We stayed at sandos papagayo and there was a marina one way and a lovely quiet beach the other way

sansou · 16/05/2019 00:47

Lagos, Portugal
Cascais, Portugal
Conil de la frontera, Spain
