Right, so thanks to previous advice we have changed our travel plans and are now looking for 2 weeks on the Peloponnese (which I still don't know if I am spelling right) with a 12 year old and us. Any recommendations for places and ideally accommodation much appreciated!

We've stayed in Finikounda and Chrani, both times in small, quite basic SC places. It's a lovely area.

This place is absolutely wonderful: www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-d1768595?m=19905. I'd love to go back. However it wasn't lively enough for the DDs (11 and 8 when we were there).

They preferred Finikounda. We stayed here: www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-d3453470?m=19905

thank you, will look at both of those - but I think we need to be somewhere reasonably lively.

Apparently Stoupa is more lively, but still very Greek!

We stayed here which was five. Stoupa was nice but not much going on. And beware the coach transfer from the airport - it has to go via a very circuitous route over the mountains due to the fact there is one bend in the "normal" road that coaches can't get round. definitely worth a private taxi xfer or self drive.

Nauplio! Used it as a base to visit the rest of the Peloponese. Was the first capital of Greece after independence.
