Car seats abroad for 2yo

I’m totally confused! Our car seat for our 2yo won’t fit in most models of car & also needs an isofix base. We are going to Israel soon & have no idea how to get around; is there a car seat we can buy that will go into taxis? I presume not as taxis will be all different models of car. Please advise me! Thank you.

We don't have a car. We had a Britax Evolva which clips in with the car's seatbelt for taxi journeys.

I don’t know the law in Israel but in the UK you don’t need a car seat for an infant/child for taxi journeys as they’re considered short enough not to warrant one (I.e. it would be too complicated to regulate...).

Personally I wouldn’t feel comfortable without a car seat for a two year old so understand why you’re trying to find a solution. Have you got relatives/friends over there who might be able to borrow one for your use whilst there? Or have you looked into hiring one? There are lots of companies that organise that kind of thing, and I’d think a lot of families with small children fly in and out of Ben Gurion, asking that’s where you’re going.

The other option is that you buy a belted seat to take with you, and put it in the airplane’s hold, in a travel bag.

Thank you. This is all great advice.
