Days out near Glasgow for 3 and 5 year old?

Hi doldrums of summer holidays kicking in and cabin fever round the corner. Any suggestions for things to do/days out in Glasgow area (or within an hour or sos drive) with a 3 year old and a 5 year old? Thanks

My 2 year old and 6 year old both loved Deep Sea World in N Queensferry and the Scottish National Aquarium at Loch Lomond. Dean Castle near Kilmarnock is great too - lots of things to see in the grounds, a good playpark and a big playmobil castle to play with in the castle keep. Best of all, it's free!! Odeon Kids club has been a life saver this summer - we went to see Meet the Robinsons this morning, and loved it. 2 adults, 2 kids and their1 munchies for under a tenner can't be bad

Glasgow Transport Museum or Science Centre, Calderglen Park East Kilbride.

Palacerigg, cumbernauld is free and excellent

Blair Drummond Safari park, Stirling is a fantastic day out

Stirling also has a fab park, King's Park and Briarlands Farm (an outdoor play place) next to the safari park at Blair Drummond is also good for 2-3 hours play

If you're into Thomas the Tank Engine, next weekend is Thomas weekend at Bo'ness railway - excellent for under 5s.

We also love the trasport museum and Almond valley.

finlaystone country park on the way to port glasgow and Heads of Ayr Farm Park would be my top two.

Another vote for Heads of Ayr. Lots and lots and lots of animals to feed and pet, plus fields of trampolines and bouncing pillows to jump on.
