We are planning a big holiday for us - me DH DD (12) and DS (14). We can do 14 days in August and have a budget of £10K. It’s a looong time since we’ve gone long haul. This is my shortlist:
Florida
Barbados
New York (3days) then Barbados
Costa Rica
Mauritius
West coast US

We like a mix of beach with sea you can swim in, sightseeing, hotel preferably. Any ideas?? Basically I want someone to price and do an itinerary for me Grin
Thank you

We are doing west coast of USA for 4, 19 days. At least £12,000. 3-4 hotels.

3-4 star hotels.

Ok so maybe my 10K is optimistic?

I would do Costa Rica, especially if you've got adventure loving teens (and you enjoy activities too).

So much to see and do, surfing, hiking, ziplining, yoga. List goes on and on, I can't wait until my kids are old enough to enjoy it!!

That sounds good - is the weather ok in August generally?

August is in the middle of the rainy season. However there is usually more rain in Sept/Oct. The rain is often in the afternoon but it is still hot in some areas. It’s tropical weather. The advantage is that it’s the green season. I think this would be my top choice with your budget. Look at companies like Families Workdwide or Exodus to keep costs down but it will be healer than going in the winter months.

cheaper than going in the winter!
