Holiday with teens

Hi there,

I am looking to book our summer holiday soon, we have 2 teens (15 & 17). So looking for a 3 - 4 bedroom villa (may have the in-laws coming too).

Past 2 years we have been to Portugal and loved it, but only for a week at a time. This year we want to go for 2 weeks (mid to end of July ish) and the prices of villas are extortionate.

Does anyone have any recommendations of places you have been with teens? We are travelling from Scotland and looking for Europe ideally.

Thanks Smile

I always say this but my teen’s favourite holiday is cruising. Not great for space in cabins but the freedom on ship is great, we get together for dinner and go out sightseeing in ports. Unlimited food and drink (with a drinks package) they can help themselves to 24/7.

Chewbecca my surprise holiday success with teens was a cruise. I expected to hate it and it was brilliant. At 15 / 17 mine would think a villa holiday too quiet.

What cruise/ship can you recommend ? And roughly what was the cost

Have a look on Airbnb if you haven't already, best place to find cheap villas

Cruises vary enormously in cost. We prefer smaller ships (under 3k passengers) and particularly like Celebrity and Princess with DC. They don't have all the knobs and whistles some (like Royal Carribbean) have but for us that is a good thing. Think of it like choosing a hotel, do you want a big one with all the facilities, a mid sized one which is a bit calmer or a small, boutique style hotel. We choose the small (under 1k) ships with no DC.

Location I don't think matters very much - anywhere you fancy!

We pay around £5k for 14 nights for 3 sharing a balcony room including all food and drinks. Only real cost on top is excursions in ports & flights if not sailing from UK.

Thank you Chewbacca, that has helped.

I recommend somewhere near Siam water park in Tenerife. Buy the kids a week pass and there is even free coaches from the local resorts.

Agree with pp Costa Adeje Tenerife is great for teens. I took DC when they were 16 and 18 and it was a great success, Siam park is awesome.
