Fast Track Passports

Some how neither husband or I had realised that in the event of no deal we might need 6 months to run on our passports to go to Europe post Brexit.
Whole family are fine except DD who only has 5 months. We’re travelling the first week of April. Managed to book a fast track (one week) appointment which is 10 days before we travel. Are the passport office true to their time scales? Should a simple renewal be back within the week or should I be panicking!!!

How far away is your appointment? If it is still more than a week away I would just apply normally online as passport normal come back in 7-10 days so I wouldn't bother waiting or paying extra for fast track.

I would be worried that the passport office is super busy at the moment because lots of people are in the same position as the OP and are renewing now instead of waiting until later in the year.

I agree with noenergy and wouldn't pay for fast track. DD2's renewal has just taken exactly a week - passport office received the declaration form and countersigned photo (I did the rest online) on Thursday 7 March and her new passport arrived here on the morning of Thursday 14 March. The delivery lady said straightforward renewals are all taking about a week at the mo.

Booked for fast track - it’s too tight and I don’t want to have to explain to my very excited DD that she can’t go on holiday because Mummy didn’t realise the rules had changed!
Now just hoping that the fast track is what it says!
My concern was the same as Barbaras!

DSs came back in a week just a fortnight ago.

and that wasn't fast track, just to clarify.
