Planning a trip to Canada, found a nice potential accommodation for one week basically in the middle of nowhere near a lake. The only thing concerning me is the thought of mosquitos. Have had a holiday ruined by being eaten to death in the past (I really react to mosquito bites). Any one been up that area and know how bad the mozzie situation is that way in the summer?

There can be mosquitos in the summer (June/July) but are retreating by mid August. They like swamps, marshes, and wetter areas with poor drainage. The coastal settlements have fewer and some towns say they never see them! It also varies from year to year. Ask the owners? Are there other properties nearby? Any holiday fora with mozzy discussions?
