I am expecting a baby later this year and want to move back to Australia ASAP after it's born.
Has anyone recently gone through this process and tried to obtain citizenship by decent plus passports for their UK born babies? Does anyone know how long it takes to get the citizenship and/or to get the passport at the moment? How accurate is it on this site? immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/citizenship/citizenship-processing-times
(I'm sort of hoping this long wait period is just for people who might have more complicated decent rather than just two Aussie parents who were on Ancestry visas in the UK at the time of the birth... or is that just wishful thinking?!)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
