Malaga airport car hire

I've just booked a few days in Spain. Flying to Malaga and need to hire a car at the airport.
There are so many companies at the airport and a huge variety in prices! Can anyone recommend a company that they used please?

DFIL lives half an hour from Malaga so we travel through there often. We use malagacar.com - they are not on the airport but run a shuttle bus to and from their office. FIL lives down an unmade track up a mountain so you need a 4x4 to get to him and they've never let us down. The only car hire place I've used regularly who always have the car (make model etc) you've booked available. Once we burst a tyre on FIL's track, we didn't dare put the spare on because it was a temp spare and a very rough road with a steep drop on one side. We phoned them and they drove out to meet us with a replacement car and just swapped it.

I would recommend them to anyone hiring a car at Malaga.

Avoid Goldcar at all costs (I used to use them years ago and they were always fine but the last time the experience was awful and, from online reviews and complaints, it's not a one off).

Be careful of return charges and extra costs cause they choose to give you a diesel car and if you don't take out the full insurance, be aware they may take a deposit of €500 or more.

Agree about goldcar. Used them once, never again.

We’ve always used Helle Hollis from Malaga and never had any problems

I was there last month and used Avis. Its a little more expensive than others but it was hassle free and in the Airport terminal itself.
