Luckily I just got the passports out and DS asked to look at his photo and DH pointed out that his passport had expired!!
I've just spoken to the passport office and for £93 I can do a 4 hour service. They have made me an appointment for tuesday afternoon for me to take the passport, photos, money, form etc and then I can give someone else a letter of authorisation to collect it the following morning (on their way to work) to save me hanging round for 4 hours.

Has anyone else had to do this and will it work okay do you think?

What a plonker I am?!?

the London passport office is an hour away via the tube so i am quite lucky in that respect. And even more lucky because one of DH's colleagues comes in through Victoria every day so we are hoping that he will collect it for me to save me spending 4 hours at Victoria. I'm already running late with doing my pre-holiday shopping, waxing, etc and now I've got to get passport photos of DS, get them certified etc and arrange cover for the DCs while I have the appointment with the passport office.
And I'm normally so well organised
