Kids clubs at hotels?

DH and I are taking DCs to Thailand in the next couple of months. It's a nice hotel and has a free kids club. We'd love to be able to leave them (aged 3 and 5) for just a couple of hours each day while we sun ourselves or just read by the pool in peace!

We've never used a kids club on holiday before and ours are not typically the sort of children that willingly take part in activities if I'm not staying with them!

Does anyone have any top tips on settling them quickly at such a kids club? Should I tell them it's going to happen before we go?

Any advice much appreciated! I'm desperate for a bit of proper sunshine without being jumped on or moaned at!

I've not been to Thai, but wherever I saw kids clubs, they just worked certain hours a day and mini-disco before bed time. Parents were always around.

Oh this is definitely a drop and go type, I've seen them before, it's just like a crèche. We've stayed with them before, but once they turn 3 you can leave them...

I went to one in Minorca, my son was under 3 so too young for kids club but my daughters as 4 and she went to the kids club between 9:30 and 12:00.

DD always knew that there was a kids club and she could go if she wanted to.

All the ones she went to had a daily schedule so she picked out sessions she liked to attend like watersport, arts & craft, cooking, games, disco or movie. Some like more sporty ones she skipped.

Shje liked going as it meant she could play with other children (she is a single child) but we always made sure she didn't feel like pushed away.
