Travel insurance that covers multiple health issues

My DS was extremely unwell last year and almost died. As a result of this he has multiple health issues including cardiac, neuro and renal. We've just done a basic search on Compare the Market and declared everything and nothing has come up. Anyone got any suggestions on where to look so we are covered fully. Only UK this year but perhaps further afield next year.

Yeah theyre a disability specialists. Also try plugging the conditions into the insurance websites direct. Tesco sometimes surprises you

Graffitiqueen · 04/03/2019 20:21

We have topped the travel insurance that comes with our bank account to allow for pre existing conditions.

I'd recommend going to an independent broker to make sure you get the correct cover. With multiple health conditions I wouldn't risk buying something from the internet.

Free spirit are another health condition insurance specialist. They have dedicated staff who are familiar with most conditions and don't panic !

Thank you Jelly and Four. I defo want to know that DS is covered fully. It is unlikely that he will become gravely ill (he's doing so well all things considered) but I need to know that if we needed it, he'd be covered properly.

I know insurancewith have been recommended by some of the cancer charities. They cover other conditions too.

Have a look at 'just travel' and 'all clear'
www.justtravelcover.com
www.allcleartravel.co.uk
My husband and I have multiple health issues and these companies offer comprehensive deals ...we're using just travel this year for a 2 week worldwide policy and there's was a very good policy for our needs

OhWifey · 05/03/2019 03:27

We use allclear. You put in all the conditions and it comes up with a list of suitable policies

YouBoggleMyMind · 05/03/2019 17:28

Thank you 🙏🏻

My DH has multiple heath issues and had a cancer scare last year. I used the insurance section on travelsupermarket.com which allows you to input pre existing conditions, whether you are waiting for etc. We usually pay through the nose & saved quite a bit this year using this site. Do read through all the policy terms though. We went with Puffin insurance - they weren’t the cheapest but the policy looked solid and has got good airline failure cover. Still saved about £60 compared to our usual Insurers!

Waiting for tests that should have said!
