We’re travelling up to London tomorrow for a ‘thing’ on Sunday. We arrive 4pm tomorrow at Paddington and are staying in Rotherhithe - 2 adults and 4dc aged 17, 15, 12 and 9.

We’ll arrive too late to visit most attractions but it’ll be too early to arrive at the Youth Hostel plus we’ll have been sat on a train for about 7 hours!!

All have visited London on school trips so have been on the Eye, seen the Shard and been to West End shows etc.

We’ve been googling furiously but could do with actual recommendations or things to avoid please. Thank you Smile

Stroll along the South Bank. Get some street food from the other side of Royal Festival Hall, keep going until Bermondsey Market. Lots of people watching,Coin Street market etc

Sounds good (if it stays dry). Thank you

China Town is good at night.

Yes, South Bank will be nice.
You could go on a boat on the Thames? Clipper runs in the evening.

We wondered about a boat on the Thames - dh and I have never done it but we think some of the dc have. I still fancy it though. Plus I have never been to Greenwich but everything will be closing as we get there Sad

China Town could be a good plan too - the dc all love Chinese food and I haven’t been since my hen do almost 20 years ago Shock

I live 5 min away from the YHA in Rotherhithe and often take the Thames Clipper with my DS.
The riverbus runs from Westminister (check timetable) to canary wharf, then you take docklands ferry across to the Doubletree Hilton. It's about a 15min walk to the YHA. The blacksmith's arms is a great pub just by the Doubletree.
