Recommendations for October big birthday trip?

I’d like to go somewhere special with my kids for my 50th. They are 17 and 10.

No theme parks. Some nice weather, maybe snorkelling, bit of life for my teenager; nowhere where you have to stay in a compound or feel unsafe.

We are struggling! All ideas gratefully received.

Belize is an unusual and special place to go for your birthday. we had a fantastic time there but we went over the Christmas holidays so you would need to check on accuweather. felt very safe did lots of activities and it was a holiday of a lifetime.

We went to the Galápagos Islands for my 50th. Just amazing. I would also recommend having a crewed yacht in the BVIs. Bliss!
