5 hours in Hong Kong?

I will have 5.45 hours to kill while at Hong Kong airport before flying to Aus.

I'm wondering if it would be possible for me to get out into the city for a bit?

I did this once before while flying via Nairobi airport, got a transit visa and got a taxi out of the airport to a hotel to kill a few hours; however there was a group of us and I felt pretty safe doing so - this time I'll be on my own and I've got a crap sense of direction.

But, it would be fun to see a (tiny) bit of a different country if I could! Any advice? Thanks.

I went many years ago but had about 8 hours. I went on the ferry and to the markets, basically wandered around

That sounds good, just to have a wander around not too far from the airport. It might be tight but I'll do some research and see if it's doable (also depending on how tired I am when the flight gets in). Thanks.
