Late flight home - wait in hotel with toddlers?

We want to return to the hotel in Cyprus where we married for our 10th wedding anniversary. Trouble is, all the flights home are 10pm or later, which is fine when it's just us but we now have a toddler.
What do you do with the long wait between checking out of the hotel and waiting for the bus back to the airport? Any tips to make the wait more bearable?

(We will be trying to get a late checkout as 1st option but from experience this isn't always possible...)

Only once we haven't been able to have late checkout but the hotel had a shower room we could use so we literally went about our day as normal before requesting the shower room key about an hour before the bus was due. I'd be very surprised if there was no offer of either thing.

We always stay at pool until 6pm, take the last curtesy room slot and shower and change, dinner and watch entertainment until we are picked up. No issues and toddlerr can sleep in buggy if needed.
