Help - We need a holiday, somewhere lovely in the med any ideas?

We really need a good family holiday after a really bad year. Ive just had a good bonus at work and am willing to spend it all on a week at the end of july or 2 weeks in August. Our budget is £4k - £7k and we need a good beach preferably wtihin walking distance and nice little town(s) to potter about in and drink morning coffees etc. Really looking for something quite special - I looked at spome boutique type hotels in majorca but they could only offer garden rooms and with a 5 year old and an 8 year old in the room we could really do with a nice balcony - any ideas????

Sardinia's supposed to be good, but I haven't been there (helpful, aren't I? )

Try checking for availability with Corsican Places, they have the nicest properties with good choices especially in the north of the island. Calvi or St Florent sound right up your street
