'Naice'resort in Majorca

Ok so it's 25 years since I last went to Majorca when I partied in magaluf and Santa ponsa. Now returning with DH and 2 pre teens. Would like a classier, smaller resort with no high rises perhaps a marina for the odd glass of cava (so I can be chilled out when kids are squabbling) any thoughts...?

We always go to Cala Egos, and spend a lot of time in Porto Petro. Santanyi is also gorgeous.

Year 4 and counting this year😂

Zafiro Palace Palmanova. It's quite close to magaluf, but you'd never know from inside the resort. We've stayed in some pretty decent AI resorts in various places, but I think this was one of the nicest - and definitely the best food wise!

Cala D'or

Unescorted · 16/02/2019 18:28

Soller or Pollensca - not the port in either case. There are some really lovely villages in the hills above Soller which are worth a look too - but don't go self catering without a car. Palma is lovely too.

We went to Cala d’or two years ago and it was fabulous. I also love porta polensa

jocktamsonsbairn · 16/02/2019 20:54

Another vote for Cala d'or or Cala Egos. Lovely walk between the two through a marina. We stayed at Club Martha in Cala Egos and the apartment was lovely and roomy. It's a lovely place with a few pools and entertainment if you want it but well placed for going into town.

Puerto Soller

lazymare · 17/02/2019 06:57

We stayed at Club Martha in Cala Egos

That's on the same street as the apartment we always book. We'd love to try Pollensa but it is so much more expensive and the kids have made friends now with other families that always go back.

jocktamsonsbairn · 17/02/2019 10:18

When we went to Pollensa we didn't like it as much as Cala Egos. More expensive and not as nice overall. Haven't been back!

BellamyBlake · 17/02/2019 10:33

Porto Cristo or Porto Cristo Novo are both lovely! Cala Mandia or Cala Anguilla.

MrsJayy · 17/02/2019 10:35

I 3rd cala D'or it is a lovely resort

lazymare · 17/02/2019 14:32

Good to know - thank you.

CottonSock · 17/02/2019 14:35

Cala dor is nice, but i cant even describe how busy beaches are. Puerto pollensa is nice

MrsJayy · 17/02/2019 14:43

Our hotel had a small cove with a beach we just hung about there

PrimalLass · 17/02/2019 14:56

The beaches are definitely busy, but we just go later on. Cala Murada seemed quiet - but lots of jellyfish I think.

ValleyoftheHorses · 17/02/2019 15:01

Port Andratx fits your description

MarthasGinYard · 17/02/2019 15:09

We like Deja
Port de Soller
Port Andrarx

daffodilbrain · 18/02/2019 19:16

Super thanks all that'll give me plenty to go on

Split stay some time in Palma (there is a nice little beach as well as the marina and historical/city life) some time in Puerto Soller. Day in Soller on the way through but can't imagine staying there tbh.

nooddsocksforme · 18/02/2019 19:28

Pollensa old town is lovely. You can get to the beach at puerto pollensa easily but IMO the old town inland is much nicer. Palma is great but my dc wouldn’t have enjoyed it as preteens

showerpower · 18/02/2019 19:37

Always stayed in Cala Ferrera at the far end of Cala Dor. There's a little train to the marina and the other coves. We love it, it's our favourite place.

cazzyg · 19/02/2019 22:17

My 10 year old loves her holidays in Puerto Pollensa. It’s a v family friendly resort - no clubs, loud bars etc. Beach is lovely and nightlife is centred around the restaurants on the seafront and main square.

Pollensa and Alcudia old towns are lovely to stroll around and there’s a small water park in nearby Alcudia for something a little bit more lively if required.
