Help with a days out website

We spend a lot of time out and about, friends and people we meet are often asking for details of places we have been or are planning to go to , so I was thinking of building a website.
What would you want from one?
Initially it will be North West based showing Routes that can be done in an afternoon and one day two days etc.
Some will be educational one is all the castles in North Wales in one day etc
The main point is to get out in all weathers as there is often stuff to do winter and summer
Any ideas / needs let me know

Have you used this website? www.picniq.co.uk

I’ve found it helpful in the past. I also love this useful site, it’s great for information

Had a look and they tend to just offer the more expensive larger establishments

I used to like 'Five Minutes away' which would, as the name implies, suggest great places to visit just off the main road. For example look up 'Whittington Castle' off the main A5. It's less than five minutes from, and back to, the main road. It's a proper castle and has proper tea shop food.

That was 20 years ago. Maps, navigation and simple advertising have got either easier or more sophisticated these days. I miss 'Five Minutes Away'.

That Cider pub off the A303 was interesting one afternoon in summertime.

Websites gone but it gives me some ideas as one of the pages will be routes to popular places but we often miss the stuff that 5 minutes off route and can make the journey much more interesting

Great idea!. I would definitely use a website like this. Always good to get recommendations from other people who have had good day out - and somewhere a bit different from the more well known places
