BA flight booking question?

DP and I are going to New York next month. We are going to book flights with BA, as it'll mean that I get bronze 'status' with them.
We only really need one checked suitcase between us.
We need to book through a certain website as I have gift vouchers to use.

BA do economy basic and economy standard. The standard includes 23kg of luggage whereas basic does not.

Can I say book myself standard economy in order to get luggage allowance, and then dp book separately and book basic economy as we don't need 46kg of luggage. He would do this on my BA account directly.

Or is there a way to do this in one booking?

What website do you have the vouchers for that you need to use?

Well I call them gift vouchers, it's a credit code for Expedia.

Ah ok. No, I don’t think you will be able to then. You can call up after you have booked and ask them to link the booking but it won’t give you any real benefit. It shouldn’t matter if you have separate bookings, although it will make it trickier to get seats together. You would need to pay to book them in advance or have both bookings open at T24 and try to nab 2 together.

Thanks so much for the advice Flis!
