Two days in Singapore and in need of a plan

Hi there,

I will be in Singapore with my kids age 5 and 9 for two days and two nights only.

Has anyone any must-sees or things to avoid?

We’ve booked accommodation so that is taken care of, we’ll be based near Orchard Road.

Thanks in advance!

The botanic gardens are really beautiful, if you like that kind of thing.

A Singapore Sling at Raffles

Wander around Little India, amazing food and shops

Enjoy!

Oh - you can also get the cable car to Sentosa Island which is a cool thing to do with the kids.

Froglette16 · 07/02/2019 14:04

I second Sentosa Island. It’s fun for the kids going over on the monorail, lovely beaches or Universal Studios - your DC are the right ages to love this and it’ll kill a day easily.

They would probably like to go on the Singapore Flyer; its their version of the London Eye big wheel.

Singapore also has its own DUCK tour which your kids would in all likelihood enjoy as well.

With children do the night safari at the zoo, take the cable car over to sentosa and visit universal studios, go to gardens by the bay for the sky trees, I also wouldn’t turn my nose up at a bus tour, Singapore is pretty small and it allows you to see a lot, quickly

Raffles is closed for renovation.

All this is much appreciated. Many thanks!

Definitely the Night Safari.

If you are not going elsewhere in the region with more opportunity for mangrove wetlands then Sungei Buloh is really interesting with wild wildlife up close. www.nparks.gov.sg/sbwr

Sentosa is fun

Is Singapore very expensive ?

endofthelinefinally · 10/02/2019 19:32

Similar to UK. Slightly cheaper than London.

Gardens by the bay in the day and at night for sound and light show.
Oculus water thing in mall other side of marina bay sands hotel.
Laser and water show in same area.
Clark key and reverse bungy

Hop on hop off bus will get you everywhere

Gardens by the bay. Has a fun water play area and a good playground. Also really good there in the evening for the light show.

My children used to love a potter round Little India- stop for a mango lassi and to have a henna tattoo for a few dollars.

Jurong Bird Park is really nice and has a great water play area when it gets too hot to walk around.

If you go to the gardens by the bay, take your swim cozzies because there is a children's splash park, see here: tinyurl.com/y53gmsad Just the thing if they are wilting a bit in the heat.

I haven’t been in over a decade, but the massive water park is a must-do with children, and I’d recommend the night safari too.

I also loved the Asian Civilisations museum and spent hours and hours there. (In air-con bliss). I’m not sure if I would enjoy it as much with children in tow Smile.
