Roald Dahl Festival For families: an intrepid team from the Museum ventures out to Aylesbury Library (Walton Street, Aylesbury) to share some buzzwangling stories and help you make your own giant BFG ears as part of the Festival events. FREE; not pre-bookable.

Chocolate decorating For all ages: decorate your own chocolate bar with help from local experts, The Chocolate Source. £3 per bar; not pre-bookable.

Gipsy House NGS Open Garden Day For adults and families: visit Roald Dahl?s Great Missenden garden, with its beautiful herbaceous borders, lime walk, roses, wild flower meadow and greenhouse with peaches and nectarines. Take a peek at the famous Writing Hut and visit the Gypsy Caravan.

Tall Tales For 7+ year-olds: our former Writer-in-residence, Adam Guillain, shares stories of his schoolboy pranks, along with more traditional tales. £3 per person.

Make a minibeast A drop-in activity for all ages: make your own minibeast to take home or add to our peach tree. FREE to Museum visitors.
Monday 30 July to Friday 3 August 10am to 3pm each day
Summer creativity camp at the Misbourne School For 5 to 18 year-olds: choose from a range of Dahl-themed activities including puppet-making and ceramics. See our website for further details or contact Martha at the Misbourne School on 01494 867847. £10 per day.
Drop-in storytelling and Roald Dahl themed craft activities for children and families take place at weekends and every day in the school holidays.

Our Shop is a treasure trove of wonderful books, Roald Dahl-related toys and games, quirky gifts and pocket money items.
Café Twit serves a delicious family-friendly range of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and home-made cakes.
Our courtyard is a lovely place to eat, play, listen to stories or just sit and relax.

The Museum, Shop and Café are open 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday, plus Bank Holiday Mondays and half-term holiday Mondays.
