florida gulf coast gems

We are planning an Easter trip 2020 to the Florida Gulf coast. Multi location , island hopping. Any recommendations for must see locations and/or fantastic accommodation that doesn't break the bank. We will have a hire car but prefer being close to the beaches etc. TIA

How far North are you planning on going? I know the panhandle pretty well as lived near but not too familiar with the rest of it.
