Sardinia, Corsica, Italian Riviera - any tips?

Looking to stay in one of these places for 10 days at the end of August. We've done France a lot over the last few years so I am keen to try Italy (i realise Corsica is French) but it looks nice so would definitely consider.

Has anyone got any tips on where we could look for a villa or hotel? We are a family of 4, kids are 7 & 5 and we are active, like beaches, cycling etc but also happy to laze by pool / by the sea. Kids club might be good but definitely not essential. Sea view / coastal is a must.

If anyone has stayed somewhere lovely then please do share :-)

It is years since I've been there but Sardinia was much, much more friendly than Corsica. Both are stunning, if I had to choose I'd say Corsica probably more so. We have spent a few holidays in Corsica and when in Sardinia, took a ferry to Corsica. So maybe you could split your time between the two?

There's no point in me recommending the hotels I stayed in as it was 15 Shock years ago now!

We went to corsica last year and it's an absolutely stunning place. Rhe beaches are beautiful, not crowded and really unspoilt. We also went wild swimming in a river/stream in the mountains, which was one of the highlights of the trip. The scenery was amazing.

I found the locals to be very friendly so long as you had a go at speaking french to them, I was also surprised by how few people spoke English, so you had to give it a go really. My french is pretty basic, but we got by just fine.

I can't really recommend a hotel as we stayed in a chalet on a campsite! It was nice, but not what you're looking for.

We did Sardinia a couple of years ago in August. We stayed on the Costa Smerelda in an Air BnB.
Very very expensive when we were there but the people watching was fab as was the sea.
We would gaze longingly at the millionaires yachts.
It’s was unbelievably hot.
Flew to Olbia from London.

I’ve heard really good reviews about an eco friendly, upmarket campsite called Sole di Sari in Corsica.

We've stayed both east and west coast of Sardinia. Preferred the beaches on the west coast and it's less windy.

Agree with PP. Corsica is slightly more stunning but less family friendly.

We stayed in one of the beachfront chalets with Yelloh village on Corsica last year and it was fab. They have a kids club and it is right on the beach. Pool complex is great as well. Highly recommend! www.yellohvillage.co.uk/camping/le_campoloro
