Places in Southern Italy/Sicily with good views

DP and I loved Santorini, but can't really face spending £400 a night on an airbnb again. We fancy somewhere like that, with a pool/hot tub overlooking the sea but doesn't cost the earth!

Any suggestions?

These villas in Sardinia have special sea views www.hotelcaladifalco.com/en/villas/. They don’t have their own pool or a hot tub though.
Or these apartments www.pierreetvacances.com/gb-en/fp_ITW_self-catering-residence-loano-2-village?season=WINTER&hc=ITW24&duree=7&dated=2019-02-14&nba=2&nbc=0&nbb=0#page

Ortigia, which is the historical tip of Syracuse on the East coast of Sicily.

Ortigia is beautiful - just do a google! It's got so much history & the colours in the main square when the sun goes down are wonderful. Compared to mainland Italy, accommodation is really cheap - we had an apartment from booking.com for about £65 a night high season. You probably won't find many places with a pool though in Ortigia - just across the bridge (Ortigia is an island) in Syracuse you'll find bigger hotels with pools. Syracuse is newer & less attractive though! You can get cheap flights into Catania & get a train to Syracuse. Taormina has fabulous views & has a very pretty old town with the most beautiful Greek amphitheatre I've ever seen. It is completely rammed though in summer & hotels are twice the price of what you will pay in Syracuse or Catania. We stayed at the Hotel Isola Bella which was a comparatively expensive but really basic 3 star in Taormina - did have a pool though & a wonderful view over the sea & the Isola Bella. If you go to Taormina, be prepared to pay through the nose & walk crowded streets - view wise though it's stunning!

Orytigia sounds fabulous.

Another vote for Ortigia, DH proposed there. He'd rented a townhouse overlooking the sea, I can't remember the name but it was next door to the Hotel Gutkowski

Another vote for Ortigia - we airbnb’d there a few years ago. Fantastic! Lots of history and great food
