USA RV holidays

We are looking into going to California with kids who will then be 11 and 8. Thinking of doing 1 week in an RV to go to some of the national parks in the area (will do hotel and car for the cities) just wondering if people had experience of this, I can't find a Facebook group. We've never caravaned ever, not worried about the driving as my husband is a truck driver and driven in America, it's more the RV experience in America I'm curious about!

we looked into doing this for a couple of weeks in Canada so thought it might be similar enough to share experiences. what we found was that most of the camp sites get booked up many many months in advance. so you really need to have a planned route that you stick to as in peak times the sites are full. so the idea of just driving and stopping where you fancy doesn't really happen. also, there were some attractions that it was difficult to access in an RV due to narrow roads or just too few parking spaces allocated to RV's. it makes visits to places something you need to plan more and give more thought to .

We found that really only the two front seats were comfortable in our RV and the view from the rear was a bit constricted.
