Sani / Forte Village / Costa Navarino

Holiday advice needed! The last few years we've been to Costa Navarino (the Romanos) for our summer holidays. We've really loved it there, but I feel like it's time for a change this year.

The main contender is Sani... but I am totally confused as to which is the best bit to go to. Another option is Forte Village in Sardinia.

Please give me your opinions! We are a family of four (children aged 6 and 4). A good kids club is very important to us, as is good food.

Also, can anyone tell me about the IKOS resorts?

Forte Village is lovely, very family friendly. It’s not very Sardinian imo, but that may not be important to you. I also like Borgo Egnazia in Puglia for family holidays.

I don’t know the other resorts you mentioned.

IKOS is sister co to Sani but all inclusive. Not quite as high end but still v nice, although I've heard very good things about the newish one in Corfu.

What sort of holiday do you want? I'm not crazy about Sani Beach (big high rise style hotel) but the other Sani resorts are lovely IMO and food is great. Especially out of school holidays. You do get a fair few oligarch types there, which makes me feel decidedly unglitzy, but still low key luxury and family friendly.

Some of the prices are crazy now though. £30K for a week in the best apartment at Sani Club!

Not been to the others you mention.

We’ve been to the ikos dassia in Corfu and it was fabulous. Very luxurious, beautiful location, wonderful service and great food. We would go back but it would cost £26k for two weeks in the summer hols!

We've done Sani and the 4 of us squeeze into the cheapest room in the cheapest hotel (beach). The club is away from
The main resort so worth bearing in mind.
Porto sani have suite rooms but a small walk to the beach.
We are going back for the 4th this year!
I always book flights and hotel separately.
Great kids clubs and I see there is now a new splash pool and high ropes course. The kids love it.

We've been to Sani three times, once to Porto Sani and twice to Sani Beach. Sani Beach isn't a "high rise" hotel complex at all. Granted it has the biggest hotel building compared to the others but it's not a high rise holiday. IMO it's the best and most practical of all the Sani complexes. Don't let it fool you just because it's the cheapest of the lot.

It's by two beaches (I love the Bousolas beach, it always had sunbeds, clean sand, very shallow water and waiter service, bliss), has number of eateries and kids club right there. The last time we went we had the Panoramic room for four of us and it was huge with a sea view.

Porto Sani was nice and the one bed suite was fab but it was on the ground floor and had no view at all. The dinner was also way too drawn out with the multiple courses. Our DC were really small back then though, I might enjoy the multiple courses now if I could go!

Sani Club has it's faithful fans but I felt it was too isolated and away from the marina and the rest. We always take the golf buggy there when we are staying at Sani but I would't like to stay my entire holiday there. But that's my personal taste, something to consider though.

I haven't been to Ikos but by my friend has been to Ikos Olivia and really loved it.
