Flying into Bilbao in April for 1 week where to go?

2 adults, 3 tweens. 1 week, definitely want to go to San Sebastian. Where else would you visit within a couple of hours? No accommodation booked yet. Suggestions of must see/areas to stay in around that region..basically any tips & advice very welcome. Thanks.

I was only there for a night but went to the Guggenheim. Incredible. I went to San Sebastian another night which was amazing and to Santander too. Enjoy your week there!

Santillana del Mar is so old and the buildings very well preserved so worth a visit. We stayed in the cleanest hotel I've ever been in: Hotel Altamira

Easily accessed from Bilbao airport, Donostia-San Sebastian, is little known among Brits but popular with Spaniards. It’s a cosy seaside town with three lovely beaches (four in summer, when tiny Santa Clara island is accessible by ferry) popular with surfers and other watersports enthusiasts and devoid of gaudy resort trappings. Opening onto the harbour with its aquarium is an attractive old quarter full of pretty historic buildings. There’s also an amusement park on Mt Igeldo, reached by cable-car. www.monteigueldo.es/
