What are the roads like and access to other towns.
I get panicky on narrow steep roads especially when there is no barrier.

Are the roads good round that area?

Can you do ski lifts in summer and those slides down mountain? Has anyone gone from there to man made fresh water lake combloux and lastly.. Is eating out/ food reasonable... Thanks

The main town itself is flat with lots of lovely bars and restaurants. There's lots of accommodation in the main town itself although we stayed in a chalet up a steep hill (which felt very safe to drive down). There's a ski lift up the mountain and you can parapente from the top. We were there in the summer and the market on Saturdays was amazing! Access to other towns is excellent. We visited Chamonix, where there's a brilliant alpine luge and also Annecy which is stunningly beautiful. Samoens is a wonderful place to stay.

We've been twice in Winter and once in Summer.
The roads are all good, no steep drops to worry about.
We spent a week there in Summer. The lifts are open to the first stage (1600m), lots of paragliders up there and they fly down to the park in the village. There's a nice walk by the side of the river to Sixt and we also hired bikes and went in the opposite direction to Morillon (sorry, soelling not correct). Half an hour away from Geneva.
Samoens is a quite village. They have a Summer activity program and we joined in the exercise class in the park which was suitable for all ages. We also spent a day at the outdoor pool. A few bars and restaurants and a bowling alley.
We're heading there in a few weeks for skiing, we drive down and have never had any problems.

Brilliant thanks. So no narrow treacherous roads.

The alpine luge, that's what I was thinking of. And swimming in lakes.
Does samoens have some hustle and bustle to it? I like buzz really not too quiet..

I wouldn't say it had a buzz about it, during the day there were mainly bikers passing through the main village.
I've not seen an alpine luge but I've seen that something new is opening in the next village, might be along these lines.

There is a Facebook page for Samoens so you might find more info on there of things to do.
