Has anyone been?
Would you recommend it for a family holiday?
Do you need to be able to speak good French?

Yes, it's really lovely. Relatively expensive though compared to many other holiday destinations.
We speak French so not sure how it is if you don't at all, but most restaurants did have English menus and at least some English-speaking staff.

I can speak very basic (GCSE 25 years ago!) French but would certainly be happy to improve prior to going.
