LA kids and jet lag

Well I have to be at a meeting in LA at half term. My CEO offered to pay for the family. Obviously this is a fabulous offer but what on Earth would I do when they wake up at 2am?
I’m so undecided if this is a wonderful idea or utter madness???

Fuck it, you’re a long time dead. We are off to Florida for half term (family visit), not quite a bad, but mine are fine and good sleepers

Thanks like your style!

Jet lag and kids is no fun and not to be underestimated. I have family in the USA and flown multiple times and anything over 5 hours time difference takes them days to get over and seriously curtails the fun factor. How old are your kids and when is your meeting? Will you DP be there too? Ideally you need seperate/adjoining hotel rooms

I would go!

Well we would fly Friday I’ll have to work Monday to prep and Tuesday is the meeting could be off the rest of the week and fly back at the weekend. They are 6 and 8. DP? Split up 2 years ago and he’s not invited Smile

If you do do it, can you get an apartment or something rather than be in a hotel room together so that if one gets up in the night, they can do so without waking everyone else?

JaiNotJay · 31/01/2019 23:12

I would go for it! Disclaimer: I have no actual children but I do love travelling. But who'll look after them while you're working?

DropZoneOne · 31/01/2019 23:22

We did LA last Feb with DD who was 9. Up every morning at 4am, dropping off by 8pm every night! Didn't improve all week.

In contrast to NY the year before when we had adjusted by day 3. Those extra few hours time change really mattered.

It was an amazing experience - we did 2 days at Disney, went to Hollywood, day at the beach. Don't underestimate the traffic if travelling around - it took us 2 hours jn the car to get from Hollywood to Anaheim!

DD is much better with jet lag than I am. And travel generally.

Go go go.
