Silly question about bike security at Centerparcs

If we bring our own, do we just chain them up outside the lodge, is there a storage space or is it better inside?

There are little bike racks to chain them up on outside the lodges. We had a big cupboard/storage space at our lodge but not sure how many bikes you’d get in it.

Take them inside if you can. Most lodges have, or had,a large cupboard and they certainly used to recommend bringing bikes inside. The racks outside the villas are just the ones you slide a wheel into and there isn't a post you could lock the frame to with a u-lock.

I haven't been for a few years so my info may well be out of date.

Also take locks for any pushchairs.

Yes, there are bike racks outside each lodge. Also big bike parks outside the waterpark, restaurants etc.

Mind you our bikes are rubbish and I'm not sure anyone would nick them even if they were unlocked. If you've got a £1000 racer then I would probably bring it indoors.

There is a very safe vibe at Center Parcs and I think they're pretty low crime. Not everyone seems to lock their bikes.

No £1000 racers here. Mine and DH's are old but the boys are both quite nice and i wasn't sure quite how secure it all is there. A cupboard space might be good but I might just bring their bikes inside overnight.

If you have half decent bikes then bring them in. Usually plenty of space in the porch or boiler cupboard. Center Parcs can be a magnet for bike theives.

We had bikes locked up to the rack outside our lodge with really good locks. In the morning we realised someone had taken the brakes and gears off all three....

! Well definitely bring them inside then!
