Has anyone been to Cap Verde, is it a safe place, recommended?

My friend went and had a great time. I've looked at it a few times myself and it's definitely on the list!

Went to sol a couple of years ago seemed safe enough to me.
Yes the local shops are pushy trying to get you to buy stuff but that’s expected they are very poor. Never felt unsafe though.

Totally safe, and absolutely amazing! It's not tainted by the usual all inclusive tat like shitty cheap alcohol and baked beans and chips with everything
The beaches that the hotels are on don't (or didn't when I was there) allow the sellers or selling of tat either.
Going into the main town area: I felt safe and your designated coach/taxi is waiting for you the whole time you're there.
Since it's still establishing itself as a holiday destination, the tourist board are doing their best to make sure it runs smoothly.
The airport is tiny. Don't expect much in duty free.
Oh, if you smoke menthol cigarettes, they didn't sell any at all. So stock up before you leave.

The hotel staff were incredibly amenable and nothing was too big an ask.

No bagsy-ing towels first thing in the morning because there's plenty of space for everyone. Beaches were practically empty every day.
The food was delicious too. A nice mix of Portuguese and African. Fresh fish, lush fruit. I couldn't recommend Cape Verde enough
