Apologies if this has been done to death...

Has anyone roadtripped it across France since the gilets jaunes protests and, if so, did you notice much disruption? Did you feel unsafe at any time?

I live in France. It depends on the areas obviously (I'm in Brittany where there has been a lot of action) but you can easily check where there are manifestations with several apps. Generally they are in city centres and the roundabouts leading into towns. I really don't think you would feel unsafe - they are very keen to get public support. If you honk your horn or smile at all they will be very friendly back. The ones near us organised hot chocolate for children and are happy to chat and want your support.

I live in France too and have really not noticed much disruption. There are occasional hold ups and they let me through a motorway toll for free at Christmas but that's it. On the plus side, I drove into Paris in December on a Saturday and the peripherique was absolutely deserted...!

Thank you maybe it sounds much worse in the media than it really is! We've been told about cars on fire and people hitting cars at payages....
