Does anyone, please, have suggestions for where I could take ds (13) (longs for waterslides, needs company and space from us) and dp (likes reading, culture and nervous of AI) ? In August. Neilsons look good but I’m afraid we wouldn’t do many of the activities- none of us much like being organised.

What kind of accommodation?

We went to Terra Natura - it’s like centre parks abroad - free entry into the water park
zoo on site lots of quiet spaces
Food was good free bus into town

Teens loved it and made friends in the pool

That sounds good! Any kind of accom. Prob not endless AI buffets, I’ll look at Terra Natura thank you

Haven’t tried either but have read a lot about Ocean Elements Holidays (no slides though) Turkey seems to be the place for big waterslides. Croatia might be worth looking into for teen activities but maybe nit so much chance to meet friends by the pool. How old is your teen are they 13/14 or 17?

Sorry just realised you said 13.

Would you consider a cruise?

I do Royal Caribbean and the ships from Southampton this year and next I think have slides, assume other companies will have similar. They have a teen club where your teen can meet people and then hang around with them onboard, even if they don’t fancy going to the club anymore. There are different stops so your dh can do cultural stuff and plenty of quiet places to read on board.

Can be as organised or unorganised as you want and there is the choice of Buffet or sit down restaurants (we’ve had great meals in all the restaurants we’ve been in, lovely tapas, good steak, nice Italian etc)

Royal Caribbean is not that upmarket though so if that’s your style then might not be good!

Been to lots of places with waterslides through TUI Splashworld and Magic Natura, kids loved them, all AI (which kids wanted) - culturally there's trips out you can do but you don't really go for a cultural experience. Estival Park was most geared for that age and not far from Barcelona.

Not AI never been but in Austria there's Area 47 - with has lots of waterslides and other activities like ziplining - obviously beautiful mountains and fair but of culture around there. We have stayed in Hintertux were can ski in summer and there's whitewater rafting there. If can shift to more like whitewater rafting around Voss / Bergen in Norway might work.

Most hotels in Antalya Turkey have waterslides in them. Have a look at the Delphin Hotels on Lara Beach.

You can search on sunshine.co.uk for hotels or packages where u pick your destination and lists of hotels come up, you can filter for onsite waterslides or waterpark.
