Car toy for 18mo for long car journey

Hi. Does anyone have any recommendations for toys for a busy 18 month old for a 4 hour car journey? I am thinking of either one that attaches to his seat (he is in a forward facing seat) or anything that he could play with in his seat. Please help! I am dreading our summer holidays this year as we have 3 4-hour journeys to do with a 5yo and an 18mo.

Sounds like hard work! My youngest is a little older (22months) and my other dd is 5yo and I regularly do a 2 hour plus car journey with them to visit my mum, so not quite the same as your epic plans but still can be boring for them if not carefully planned. My youngest is a little older than yours so might not work, but she loves to look at books whilst I drive and she has a favourite teddy and doll in the back, my older dd passes them to her whenever she fusses, and I always have a selection of nursery rhyme cd's and storybook cd's which they both enjoy! Agree with raisins too. Good Luck, if I remember anything else I'll post again

We did an 8 hour drive with 18mo last year and got a really good Thomas book with musical buttons that he still loves at 2.5. Also got a thing from ELC that looks like a book divided into 4 sections and each page makes lots of noise.

Noisy and annoying but really worked.

We have been driving to south of France since our DC were 4½ yrs and 18 months and that is a good 12 hours so know what you are worried about!

We had portable DVD player - we are lucky to have a DVD recorder so I made up lots of DVDs of Cbeebies compilations. we took a bag full of new toys/books/stickers etc and with snacks etc they were fine.

Ours are good travellers, but it is fine, honestly.

Our top car toy is the magnetic drawing board with the pen attached, and the pretend dashboard with steering wheel that attaches to the seat in front.
