Budapest with toddler

We were thinking/planning on going to Budapest when I found out I was pregnant so needed to start saving etc.

Now thinking is it a place we could visit with a little one (around one). Would still like to visit but not sure if it's a family holiday destination.

Any advice/recommendations?

It depends when you'll be going and what you like to do. I remember Budapest has a nice island park (Margaret Island), and a market (where I bought some local pottery), and plenty of walking along the Danube. Apart from that we visited museums, which unless your DC is sleeping would be rubbish with a toddler. TBH, we avoided city breaks when our DC were that age as it's much easier to amuse them with playgrounds and sandy beaches. If your DC is happy to nap in a stroller though you may be able to visit some attractions - it depends on your DC really.
