Suggestions welcome for holiday in drivable distance from Calais- with dog

We usually always go to the Alps/ Bavaria (Chamonix, Berchtesgaden,Wengen, Seefeld,Bolzano, st Gilgan etc), flying to Munich or Geneva and hiring a car. We don't do heat or sunbathing so these types of hols work great for us!

This year we're driving to France via Eurotunnel (with our new dog) - can anyone suggest somewhere within about a six hour drive of Calais in any direction that would be similar (walks, lakes, towns to eat in)? We are thinking of heading to Reims for a night or two, then anywhere really but open to suggestions! Or, have you driven to the Alps and is it an exhausting drive??

I've driven to the Pyrenees with kids! We did an overnight stop half way. Lots of people with dogs. I'd do it again no problem.
Alternatively, Brittany or Normandy are within a couple of hours of Calais, and are lovely places to holiday.

Try the Ardennes. It’s a stunning and very unspoilt area. Here are some good places to stay with dogs

Thanks both, will have a look at those areas - those landal dog friendly chalets look well set up - am now looking at their other places in Denmark! I just hope pet passports don't get bogged down in Brexit problems after March meaning we have to rejig everything once we've booked something 😱
