Lapland - February or April?

I'm looking to take the kids to Lapland, at either February half term or April school holidays instead. Has anyone been there in these months, and can give any advice as to which is best?

March or April is slightly warmer and more daylight. However we have a winter's break in mind so February feels closer to our original plans. (We had hoped to go in December but this isn't looking feasible).

Our kids will be 5 and 7 and we have somewhere in Levi in mind.

Thanks!

I have been pondering this exact same thing. However, we live up North and the charter airlines seem to stop flying in March so no direct flights in April that I have found. You might have some from London though?

Without the flight issue I would choose early April though. It would be less stress of making sure you all had warm enough kit and not having to go back inside to warm up frequently.

Good point! I'll check flights from London on April this year to see if there's any to Kittilä.

Just checked and I can't see any direct flights in April from London either. We would have to stop over in Helsinki, which helps nudge February forward as a first choice.
