DH and I are taking DS, 22mths to Brighton for a couple of days this week. Hotel is sorted, but we had been hoping for better weather! (trip was booked ages ago!). Can anyone recommend things to do if the weather is horrible, and also any nice child friendly restaurants? TIA

restaurants - try Tootsie's in the Lanes (burgers but with a kids menu - EVERYONE there has a baby).

Donatello's just behind East Street (an Italian where you can just get children's portions of any pizza or pasta on the menu - staff are lovely).

There's a cafe in St Ann's Well's Gardens that's v child friendly but only open lunch times.

The childrens section of the Jubilee Library is fantastic. They often have childrens music or story sessions on too.

Just behind the library is the lovely Bills Cafe & Produce store. I would defy any child not to get totally over excited by the dolly mixture fariy cakes (and you will be equally goggle-eyed by the grown up puddings - they are works of art).

The Pavilion is gorgeous. And you can pop over to the museum afterwards to look at George IV's enormous britches afterwards (DD thinks they are hilarious).

Sorry, too many "afterwards"'s.

Forgot to mention the Booth museum of Natural history. Very spooky funny old museum full of stuffed birds (but your DS might be a bit freaked out by it!)
