Hi, we're taking 4yr old ds on a "Day out with Thomas" tomorrow at the Bluebell Railway. Just wondered if anyone's done this and whether you had any suggestions on how to get the most out of the day (other than stay at home of course!)

Ds hasn't been very well and this is a real treat, his stamina isn't what it could be so I'm trying to plan the day to ensure he gets as much out of it as he can without being completely wiped out!

Thanks

get there early. I'm sure someone went last year or year before on here, have you searched ?

We've done it - it is very popular! I think that you may have to be prepared for some queues eg to go inside Thomas.

Have a look at the timetable before hand and decide which trains you want to go on. Make sure that you arrive with half an hour to spare as parking will be busy - last time they were parking up at the Shellfield Park estate and bussing people down from there.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities!
