Weekend break that won’t break the bank Easter with family & with DH

I could really do with cheering up and having some things to look forward to. Ideas and inspiration please.

Part 1 - Any ideas for a weekend break around Easter time with DH and two teenage kids not massively expensive we could do with some fun as a family (before they fly the nest 14 and 15). We could take the dog but don’t have too. Ideally within a 2 1/2 hour radius of Cumbria?

Part 2 - Any ideas for a romantic break for DH’s birthday around the end of March again probably within two hours of Cumbria as likely only to be one night (two days) or if we could stretch to two nights where could we go that won’t break the bank, somewhere romantic and relaxing. We could do with recharging our relationship as rarely get any alone time or nights out.
Thanks

Doez it have to be 2 hours from Cumbria? If so perhaps Scotland, Newcastle, York.

Look on Airbnb for the areas you are eminterested in. Some amazing properties in amazing places. From city centre pads to windmills _!
Another fun one with teenagers is narrow boating. Takes them about two hours to get over the lack of constant WiFi (most get intermittent) before they are out opening and shutting lock gates , steering, cooking etc .

The narrow boating has always sounded fun but it’s always too pricey in school holidays.

Stay Play Explore holidays are pretty cheap, we did the Leicestershire one when the kids were younger but if yours are older I think they now also do breaks in Warwickshire and Yorkshire. You can choose which attractions you visit so get the kids to take a look, see what they fancy
